About Us
Birdworld is a privately owned organisation and forms part of the family run business, Denys E. Head Ltd. Other divisions of the company include Forest Lodge Garden Centre and Garden Style specimen plant nursery.
Birdworld came under the current ownership in 1996 and was previously run by its founders, the Harvey’s, who set up Birdworld in 1967.
Set in 26 acres, Birdworld is the largest bird park in the UK. In addition to the birds, the attraction also includes the Jenny Wren Farm and Underwater World.
Birdworld is an active member of BIAZA (British and Irish Association of Zoos and aquaria) and Tourism South East. A Gold award is proudly held in the Green Tourism Business Scheme and the company has held IIP (Investors in People) status for several years.
