Special Events

At Birdworld, we like to think that everyone’s visit is a ‘Special Event’.

In addition to the regular daily attractions, we also have a full calendar of additional Special Events, many of which are inclusive in the normal admission prices. These include Special fun days, Discovery Days, Activity Weeks and Seasonal Events.

Special events calendar 2012

Saturday 2nd- Sunday 10th June.
Love Your Zoo week.
Birdworld joins in with zoos right across the country to celebrate your local zoo. Throughout the period we will be holding additional tours and demonstrations in all of our animal departments plus topical trails and arts and crafts.

Sunday 17th June.
The Annual Great Paper Plane Competition
In celebration of Fathers Day, we will once again be holding our popular Paper plane competition. Great prizes for the furthest distance flown.

Wild Wednesdays: Every week during August we will have extra events and activities.

Sunday, 01st July
Art in the Park
Local artists will be exhibiting their work at Birdworld. There will be a range of artwork from paintings, pottery, photography and more!

Macbeth Outdoor Theatre Evening

Wednesday 1st August.
Teddy Bear’s Picnic.
Bring your teddy along for this favourite annual event at Birdworld. There will be fun, games, dancing and loads of prizes to be won!

Wednesday 8th August.
Mini Beast Safari Day.
Join the Birdworld keepers to meet our slithering and crawling critters plus arts and crafts, trails and lots more fun.

Wednesday 15th August.
Birdworld Animal Athletics
 Hop like a rabbit, waddle like a penguin, flap like a fish. Come along and join in a fun filled day of races and competitions all around the park.

Wednesday 22nd August.
Wild West Fun.
Saddle up and mosey on down to Birdworld for a funday with a western theme. Cowboys and Indians all welcome for fun and games and prizes to be won.

Wednesday 29th August.
Crafty Little Artists - Creative fun for everyone.
Come along and get creative in this fun filled day. Have a go at some new activities and take the opportunity to join in our lively drawing class.

29th October- 2nd November.
Halloween Activity week.
Halloween Grotto, spooky trail plus some fun but creepy arts and crafts. Join us for some howling good fun- if you dare……

Throughout December.
Santa will be in his Winter Wonderland with his elves and Reindeers on selected dates throughout December.

Past Events

February Half Term Monday 13th to Friday 17th February
Hearts and Crafts Activity Week.
We are all loved up at Birdworld for half term. Come along to do some arty activities including making a valentine card for mum or a loved one and take part in cupids trail to mend the broken hearts. Also our new Lovebird Aviary,’ Wings of Love’ will be launched and there are some great Lovebird Adoptions available as Valentines Gifts.

Wednesday April 4th.
The Annual Birdworld Easter Egg Hunt.
Crack the clues to claim your egg plus the opportunity to win some other great prizes. Join in with some seasonal arty fun.

Tues 10th to Friday 13th April
Easter Farm Fun.
Arts and Crafts, Tractor and pony rides and lots of spring farm babies to see.
