Conservation Education Guide – Full-time

We are offering an exciting opportunity for a full-time Conservation Education Guide to join our Conservation Education Team.

Set within 26 acres of beautiful landscaped gardens, Birdworld is one of the largest bird parks in the country and is home to a diverse collection of species. We offer support to conservation projects around the world, and this role is all about sharing our conservation and educational objectives with our guests.

Supporting the Conservation Education Team Leader, Conservation Education Guides will be responsible for engaging and educating Birdworld guests through talks, seasonal events and animal engagements by working alongside the Livestock Team.

You will be actively engaging with guests during their visit by starting conversations, answering questions, and offering help and advice during their visit to Birdworld. This role is predominantly outdoors and will involve ranging across our 26 acre site throughout the day.

The successful candidate will need to be charismatic and outgoing, energetic, self-motivated, have good time management, organisation, and customer care skills with great attention to detail. They will also need to have a passion for educating and inspiring people about the natural world. Being able to talk to a range of audiences is considered essential for this role.

This role is ideal for someone who wants to begin their career in Zoo Conservation Education and who has a passion for engaging a wide audience. This role would also be suitable for a livestock keeper seeking a change in career.

This vacancy is a full-time position, working 38 hours a week, with weekend and public holidays being part of your working rota.

Current rate of pay for this role is £8.91.
